Hope all of you are having a great week. Those of you that were gone this past weekend traveling and enjoying the holiday, we missed you! We look forward to seeing you back this week! Good Day to ALL of the EC'ers!!!!

I hope all of you are having a fantastic "grace" filled week! Grace for others and yourself! Thanks for another great weekend at the EC. 

This weekend was fun and challenging! It started on Saturday with our Love Works and One Prayer community outreach. I hope you got to be a part of it! It was a BLAST!!! We went up to Oakgrove Apartments and Rockwood Elementary School and served till it hurt!!! We pulled weeds, cleaned out flower beds, fixed playground equipment, laid sod, painted, watered, taught soccer clinics and played soccer - you name it we did it!! What a FUN day! It is amazing for me that when I go to serve and be a blessing to others for Him, that I end up getting my socks blessed off (ever had that happen??)! To see the faces of the community -  kids playing and having fun, moms laughing and smiling, dads jumping in to help with whatever, and all of it for HIS Glory! I pray that in all of that that they saw Jesus and it will push them closer to the Father, wherever they are on their journey! 

Sunday Craig challenged us to be one! That we have one enemy and he is Satan (not each other or other churches), we need to have one heart and have one purpose. If we as His Church could be one, amazing what could happen. Craig's shared his thoughts of what could happen at the end of his talk! Possibly within a week we could be with Him in heaven!! Very Challenging!!! 

I look forward to this weekend as we have our Baptism BASH! It is exciting to see people proclaim the change in their heart that Christ has done through Baptism! Make sure you don;t miss the celebration. I look forward to seeing you on Sunday as we continue our series "One Prayer". Don't Miss It!!!!

VBX - Celebration

Good Morning EC'ers!!!!

I hope this finds all of you having a great "grace" filled week in Him!! I wanted to share with you an update of VBX from Brooke Harrison our Executive Pastor of Journey Kids. Thanks to all of you for your help and those of you that were a part of having a BLAST with the kids this week!!! Our Journey Kids ministry is amazing and life changing for both kids and parents!! Read what Brooke has shared.......

Melanie & I cannot thank you all enough for your support of "Ridin' the Range" last week!! All of you contributed in a huge way and we are very grateful for all of your hard work. We know that we can improve from year to year, so please feel free to let us know what changes we can make next year to make the experience even better. We would love to hear from you!

Throughout the week we were able to minister to 650 kids along with close to 200 volunteers!!!! WOW! We were blown away by the kids response to the "bring a friend" contest throughout the week. However, we know the greatest encouragement to all of you are the stories & the wins that we are hearing from parents & volunteers - please take a moment to read a few of the following stories as I know they will touch your lives in a big way!

My name is Janie and my son, Jameson was a guest of Wade at Vacation Bible School last week at Journey Church. First of all, I want to say thank you so much for a wonderful week for Jameson - he had a blast - which brings me to the real reason that I am writing you.

I am glad that he had fun at VBX, but as a parent I was also hoping that he would get some real spiritual education from it as well. I feel that the following story will answer that question clearly.

My sister-in-law collapsed in her home one evening last week and was taken by ambulance to the hospital where the prognosis was very grim. A few days in the ICU and many tests later, it was determined that there was no brain activity and her systems were shutting down one by one. During one afternoon that I left the hospital and was running some errands with Jameson who is 7 and his sister who is 9, I was trying my best to explain to them what was happening to their aunt and prepare them for what was to come. My daughter and I both began crying and then I hear this little voice from behind me in the back passenger seat say "Mom, you know that God gives us the power to live forever." I said "Oh, honey, I do know that, I am just sad and worried about your uncle." To which my then replied, "You know God also gives us the power to be brave."

At this point, I was stunned at the insight and the wisdom coming from this seven year old! I couldn't have asked for anything more inspiring or comforting than his words at that moment.

So, I think that he did indeed gain a great deal of education about what God can and will do for each and every one of us just when we need it most!

My kids had a wonderful time at VBX! Thank you and your staff so much for all of the hard work that you put into it. We attended last year and plan on it again for next! Thank you so very much.

What a great experience to be a part of the VBX team. I'm glad that Megan, Kate and I were able to help as crew leaders. I enjoyed myself more and more each day. The first day I was just thinking, "HOW am I going to learn 19 girls' names in four quick, busy days?!" but I had their names down by Wednesday and enjoyed my time with them and felt myself choking back tears as I was telling them good bye today!

Thank you for asking me to be a part of such an amazing week!

Every year at one point in the week I cry (sometimes more than once) today was that day. I would have never imagined this was the situation that would touch me most, but as I was lecturing the kids on going under the first obstacle on the obstacle course because I would miss them on Friday if they were to break a neck, one little boy said "but I am ready." I said "oh, sweetie you are too young to go to heaven, you have so much to do!" He said, "but my Paw-Paw died in an accident and I miss him." We;;, as hard as it was to keep my eyes dry, we got to have a conversation about how "paw-Paw" would be watching him and want him to live long and bring a whole family to him someday and that I was sure that Paw Paw was watching and glad he was there learning about how Jesus gives us the power to live forever! The cutie just smiled and said "yah" and went because it was his turn. I didn't even get a chance to find out his name, but he has definitely been in my prayers today! I am so thankful that the Lord placed me there today. I hope I was a comfort to him and I definitely learned a lesson from him too!

Journey is such an amazing place, I am so blessed to do my part! Thanks again and see you tomorrow!

I just wanted to let you know how thankful I am that you are letting me serve at VBX. I had a BLAST today! It is so awesome to see God's work in these kids.

Also, I want you to know that Ryan has invited 10 friends and so far at least 5 are coming.... I might ve getting pie on Friday.... Which would be awesome! I also invited our pastor's wife to come watch because she is doing our VBS at New Life. She is probably going to come and bring her two kids.

Thanks again for all you are doing in the kingdom.

I just wanted to share w/ you the following:

As we were leaving the church parking lot Chase and Caden were talking very animated and I asked them what about and Caden replied, "I can't wait until tomorrow!" Why? I asked. He stated (very, very excitedly) "because we get to come back and it was a great time today!"

They both loved it! They have been talking about tomorrow ALL afternoon. All that you do is working for these kids and, I for one, so appreciate everything you do! Keep up the good work.

Again, Melanie & I can't thank you all for spending the week with these kids! THANK YOU!!!

Do you love me?

Good Day to All!!!! 

Yesterday was a great day! It is sooo good to be back in action and back from Uganda. I missed all of you and the community of the East Campus. Ben did another great job with worship! I am excited about our series "One Prayer" and the concept of churches all over the world coming together to focus on this topic at the same time. Chris Hodges, Senior Pastor from Church of the Highlands in Birmingham, Alabama, was off the charts as he challenged us to be authentic. What an engaging speaker! He made me stop and evaluate many areas of my life and what those look like in an authentic relationship with God. The thought of being in love with God can change your whole thinking of your relationship with Him. When you are in love with someone you would do anything to be with them and share life with them. I know I have done some pretty wild things in my life to do life with my wife, nothing could get in the way to be with her and spend time with her. When I contemplate that in my relationship with God and being in love with Him, I need to rethink some things!! Being so passionately in love with God means that He is all that I need and NOTHING gets in my way in that relationship and the opportunity to spend time with Him. WOW! I need to spend some time with Him and revisit what He has done for me and reignite my love for Him, not just what I do for Him. So what do you think about the talk from yesterday? When God asks you the question, "Do you love me??" what is your response to Him. He loves us sooo much and waits expectantly each day to spend time with us.

Honor

Good Monday morning to All!!!

Yesterday sure was a lot of FUN!!! We had a day that was packed and filled with life change and life impact.

What a beautiful day with great weather to "Honor" our Mothers. Where would we be without Mom? I am scared to think where I would be without mine! Thanks Mom!! ( Maybe I should get tattoo with that??? J/K!!) It was great to see my daughters honor their Mom! Mary Vee you're the BEST! She has done an amazing job of being a mother to our girls and teaching them to be young women that chase after Him.

It was another day of firsts at the East Campus, we had our very first baby Dedication! What an "Honor" to be a part of this event. Parents being obedient and following the example of Mary and Joseph in dedicating their children to the Lord. In Luke at a very young age, Jesus was dedicated by his parents at the temple to God. It was exciting to see all of you praying over the parents and children, agreeing to support them and be examples pointing their kids to God. Always remember...."Little eyes are watching"!! Thank You Journey Church!

We kicked off a new series called "Honor". We changed things around a bit in the flow of the worship experiences and you responded! As we understand what "Honor" is all about and how we are to "Posture" ourselves, it is very challenging for all of us. As you meditate this week (which I encourage all of us to do) on what Clark shared with us, what is God pointing out to you to "Honor" Him with? In worship.....In Communion......In sharing the love of Christ......In spending more time with Him? There are so many areas that God is challenging me in. I am excited to see the journey that God is taking me and us on.

A few things to remember this week........

* To pray for our Mission's Teams as go to the nations. The specific countries are Mozambique, Kenya and Uganda. Pray for effectiveness in sharing the love of Christ with all they come in contact with, team unity and safety.
* Fore the Kids Golf Tournament - Monday afternoon.
* Next Sunday we start our new worship experience schedule 9:45 & 11:00 AM. Don't be late!!!

First Wednesday

Good Morning EC'ers!!!

Last night was a fantastic night of worship at First Wednesday. It was great to see all of you there. We had a tremendous showing of the East Campus at First Wednesday....Thank You for being a part of a great evening. It is awesome to be able to come together as one church to worship the Father. Todd did his usual great job of sharing with us from the word....Our Father is unshakeable.....Our Father is patient......and He is undignified when it comes to us as His kids!! WOW!!! Kyle and the Band led us into the presence of the Father which allowed us to focus, worship and glorify Him!! Thanks!!!

Upcoming important stuff......

* Wired this Friday (6-8 PM) at the North Campus. Parents if you have never been to Wired you need to bring your kids out and have a BLAST!! It is a fun filled evening with skits, moon bounces, food and focus on the character virtue of Patience. Come check it out, you don't want to miss it!!
* Sunday is Mother's Day & baby Dedication.
* Monday is the Fore the Kids Golf TOurnament.
* VERY IMPORTANT - Sunday May 18th - New worship Experience times - 9:45 & 11:30 AM
* Student Journey Summer Camp - June 1st - 5th
* Vacation Bible Xperience (VBX) - June 10th - 13th

Another Great Sunday

Happy Monday to All!!!

What a great weekend of life change at the East Campus! The weather was wonderful and Hospitality worked well on the patio with the new covering!! I love Springtime! Thanks to all of our Volunteer Teams for a great day!

I love the opportunity to take communion as a the Body of Christ. A time to reflect and do it in remembrance of Him. Celebrating and worshiping what Jesus has done for us!

Here are a few reminders and important dates for this week......

* This Wednesday (May 7th) is First Wednesday. You don't want to miss out on a great night of worship at the North Campus. It starts at 7:00 PM and childcare is provided. Clark will continue talking about the names of God.
* Friday - May 9th is Wired!!! Plugging Parents into a Kid's World!! Come bring your kids and be a part of a fun filled night. It starts at 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM. We will be learning about the virtue of Patience - waiting until later for what you want now.
* Sunday - May 11th - Mother's Day and Baby Dedication - Would you like to dedicate your children to the Lord? THis is not only for babies! If you are interested in dedicating your kids to God let us know. We want you to invite your friends and family to be a part of this fun day. Email me if you would like to dedicate your kids and we can get back to you with the details!
* Monday - May 12th - GOLF!!! Come be a part of a fun day on the links! We are raising money to support our Youth Summer Camp and Vacation Bible Xperience (VBX). The cost is $75.00 and it includes everything (we even feed you).

OK if you're not volunteering at Journey Church you are missing out!! Last Thursday was a BLAST as we honored and celebrated all that YOU do to make Journey successful in pursuing the Vision God has given us - Seeing our City Transformed One Life at a Time.

What a great showing of the East Campus at the V Awards!! I hope you had a fun night!! Laughing at all of us and yours truly - having fun ourselves, as we honored you!!!

Everything that WE do at Journey does not happen without all of YOU who volunteer. And it's because of your hearts that lives are changed! Thank YOU.....Thank YOU...Thank YOU!!!!
